Happy New Year allihopa! (See below for English translation)

Ännu ett år ska sammanfattas och vi ska försöka göra det kortfattat här. När Sjömansservice stängde idrottsåret 2024 (den 3 januari) stannade räknaren på 26 849 registrerade träningsaktiviteter i lagtävlingen Sports League. I Office League hade vi ytterligare 4 985 pass.

Gemensamt för lagen i Sport Leagues Top-5 är att samtliga hade fem eller fler deltagare, som aktivt bidrog till poängsamlandet. Nyckelordet till framgång här är alltså ”tillsammans”, så försök under året att få med fler i laget, och framförallt till träningspasset. Den största vinningen ligger ju förstås inte i SeaSportal, utan i starkare kroppar, ökat välmående och säkrare sjöfart. Dessutom vittnar många om att det nästan är dubbelt så kul att träna ihop med andra. :-)

De lag som plockade flest poäng under året var Gotland, Freja och Ramona, i fallande ordning. Medlemmarna i lag Gotland utförde hela 1 620 aktiviteter och fick därmed ihop 494,29 poäng. Andraplatstagarna i Svitzers lag Freja kämpade till sig 433,60 poäng. Ramona-gänget var inte långt efter, med sina 396,00 poäng.

Stort grattis till er och till alla er som tagit er till gymmet, simbassängen eller löprundan under året! I tabellerna för Biking, Multi, Running och Swimming syns många otroliga insatser. Jag skulle kanske göra bäst i att inte nämna några namn, men kan helt enkelt inte låta bli. Kolla t.ex. in Per Skoglund, Jeanette Grönstedt, Malin Andersson och Göran Johansson, som alla hamnade högst upp i de individuella tabellerna. Jag säger bara –Wow!

Så vad sker nu?

• Vi kommer att uppvakta vinnarna i Sports League med prispokaler vid ett lämpligt tillfälle.
• Om du tagit några Master-medaljer under året och vill beställa dessa på en plakett, behöver du göra din beställning här, senast den 15 januari. Du hittar dina medaljer under ”Märken” på ”Din sida”.
• Viktigast av allt är du nu behöver gå in och acceptera de tävlingar du vill delta i under året. Kom ihåg att det bara är aktivt arbetande sjöfolk som ska vara med i Sports League, och är du inte det kan du istället gå med i (eller skapa ett lag) i Office League. Du hittar tävlingarna under ”Din sida”. Gör det redan idag.

Another year has passed, and we're here to give you a quick summary. When the Swedish Seamen’s Service wrapped up the sports year 2024 (on January 3rd), the counter stopped at 26 849 registered training activities in the team competition Sports League. In Office League, we had another 4 985 sessions.

The common factor for the teams in the Top-5 of Sports League is that all of them had five or more participants who actively contributed. The keyword for success here is "together," so this year, try to get more people involved in your team, and especially in the upcoming training sessions. The biggest benefit isn't really in SeaSportal, but in stronger bodies, increased well-being, and safer shipping. Many also testify that it's almost twice as fun to work out with others.

The teams that scored the most points during the year were Gotland, Freja, and Ramona, in that order. The members of team Gotland performed a total of 1 620 activities and thus collected 494,29 points. The runners-up in Svitzer's team Freja fought their way to 433,60 points. The Ramona-team wasn't far behind, with their 396,00 points.

Congratulations to you and to all of you who made it to the gym, pool, or running track during the year! In the tables for Biking, Multi, Running, and Swimming, many incredible efforts can be seen. I might do best not to mention any names, but I simply can't resist. Check out Per Skoglund, Jeanette Grönstedt, Malin Andersson and Göran Johansson who all topped the individual tables. I say just – Wow!

So, what happens now?

• We will celebrate the winners of the Sports League with trophies at a suitable occasion.
• Most importantly, you now need to go in and accept the competitions you want to participate in during the year. Remember that only actively working seafarers should be in the Sports League, and if you're not, you can instead join (or create a team) in the Office League. You can find the competitions under "Your Page." Do it right away. 

Thank you for 2024! Now let's kick off 2025 and try to get more people involved in our fun and important together-mission.

A couple of weeks ago, we informed you about a few upcoming changes in SeaSportal. Here's a little reminder. :-)

From January 1 2023 we will have a new competition module, which will come with some new features. For example we will be able to run two main contests at the same time - Sports League for seafarers and Office League for office staff. Regardless of which of the main contests you compete in, you can compare your teams results with the teams in the other contest. It till also be possible for you to set up internal contests within the shipping company.

Changed date for all ongoing contests

Due to the upgrade, we need to shut down all contests one week earlier than planned. This means that all contests will end at December 24. All workouts carried out up to the 24th need to be registered on the 25th, at the latest, to count in the contests. During the upgrade you will still be able to register workouts and view your training diary, but the points will not count in the contests.

Sports League for seafarers

During the summer we got a few office teams in the contest. And even though we really like the idea of having a plattform where one can compete throughout the shipping company - ships vs. office - we had to let the office teams go from Sports League. This will mean that the office teams will show 0 points, since they are not currently in a contest. We are sorry for this, but Sports League has always been a seafarer contest.
